KITA Bar on the 36th floor of Park Hyatt Jakarta, overlooking the Menteng skyline at dusk

KITA Bar, Park Hyatt Jakarta β€” Jakarta has higher rooftops and louder ones, but none that get the balance quite this right. On the 36th floor of the Park Hyatt in Menteng, KITA splits itself between a low-lit indoor lounge and an open terrace that looks straight out over Central Jakarta, far enough above Jalan Kebon Sirih that the traffic below turns into something almost pleasant to watch.

The cocktails are light and precise rather than showy, built around good ingredients and pitched to be drunk slowly. Izakaya-style small plates keep pace with them, so you can settle in for an evening without ever quite committing to dinner. DJs take over Wednesday through Saturday, but the volume stays conversational.

Come for sunset if you can β€” arrive around 5.30pm, take the terrace, and let the city light up in front of you. Smart casual, and worth booking ahead on a weekend.

Jakarta has one of South East Asia's most impressive rooftop bar scenes, driven by the city's collection of super-tall skyscrapers in the CBD districts of Sudirman and Thamrin. The Indonesian capital's top rooftop venues sit anywhere from the 45th to the 67th floor, offering uninterrupted panoramic views across the sprawling city. From the iconic SKYE at Menara BCA to the record-breaking heights of HENSHIN in Gama Tower, Jakarta's sky bars combine world-class views with strong culinary and cocktail programmes. The city's traffic makes rooftop bars a popular choice for evening socialising among expats and local professionals alike.
