Cantina Rooftop sits high above the Campuhan valley, looking straight down onto the tiered shrines of Pura Gunung Lebah with jungle rising on every side — arguably the finest temple view of any bar in Ubud. Chef-owner Cristian Encina brings a Chilean-Latin accent to a modern bistro menu of grilled scallops, ceviche, wood-fired steaks and shareable tapas, matched with artisanal aperitivos and cocktails built on local produce.
Doors open at 5pm, which conveniently coincides with the daily two-for-one cocktail hour until 6pm — the sweet spot for catching the temple lit up at dusk. Sundays bring jazz on vinyl, and when the rooftop winds down, follow the red arrow to Boliche, the intimate late-night lounge downstairs where DJs play Thursday through Saturday on the site of Ubud's original 1970s bar, the Beggars Bush.
